Hello thar! I’m Lauren, a third-year PhD student in the Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media program at North Carolina State in lovely Raleigh, NC, which is consistently voted one of the best cities in which to live by myriad internet polls. I totally agree.

Research-wise, I’m interested in how women are represented, and in turn how they represent themselves, in digital and mass media forums. I am also interested in how young women use digital media (especially video sharing media like YouTube and Vimeo) to connect with others. In other news, I teach undergraduate classes in writing, rhetoric, and media production and culture. I am a nail polish obsessive, a lover of cat videos, and forever a Pacific Northwest girl at heart.
